September 4, 2019 BOARD MEETING NOTES
MEETING CALLED TO ORDER: 1832 by Bill Harwell.

MEMBERS PRESENT:
Bill Harwell, Paul Van Dyck, Jim Pace and Kevin Rasku.

August MINUTES:
Approved.

FINANCIAL REPORT:
Bank Balance: $8,114.86

K7PG:
Gary Litteer, who died August 19, 2019, had expressed an interest in having his callsign replace WA7UHD as the club call sign. The board agreed to pursue changing the club callsign and to present the possibility to the club members at the 09/05/2019 meeting.

Club Activities:
Jim Pace suggested that the club have more activities outside of the monthly meetings. Discussed possibilities included hidden transmitter hunt (bunny/fox hunt), operating through satellites and a purposeful outreach to new hams.

Baw Faw Repeater:
Jim Pace suggested adding a weather radio to the Baw Faw repeater because of the large repeater footprint. The repeater could transmit weather alerts and amber alerts. The board agreed to check with Eugene O'Neill to see if its controller could handle a weather radio input.

MEETING CLOSED: 1907.

September 4, 2019 PROGRAM NOTES
The September 4, 2019 General Meeting was called to order by Bill Harwell at 7:30 PM with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag followed by people introducing themselves with their name, call sign, home town, and what they would do if they went back to school. The attendance signin sheets were passed around.

The death of Gary Litteer, K7PG, was announced. There was no dissention to the board looking into changing the club callsign from WA7UHD to K7PG in memory of Gary.

The September calendar, which is available at http://cvars.org/, was presented.

During the "Leads & Needs" time, possible club activities were discussed. Possibilities included hidden transmitter/bunny/fox/emergency locator transmitter hunts and erecting towers.

The program, "ARRL Board Meetings," was presented by Michael Ritz, W7VO, ARRL Northwestern Section Director. Michael introduced the new Northwestern Division web site at https://arrlnwdiv.org/ . Register, using your callsign for your user name, to post in the Forums.
