November 7, 2018 BOARD MEETING NOTES
MEMBERS PRESENT:
Eugene O'Neill, Paul Van Dyck, Bill Knepper, John Ellingson, and Jim Pace.
CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order by the President at 18:30.
FINANCIAL REPORT:
1. Bill submitted the following account summaries:
— CVARS Account Balance: $5,982.66
— BAW FAW Account Balance: $1,492.52
2. Bill proposed combining the CVARS and BAW FAW bank accounts effective January 1, 2019.
The board unanimously approved.
501(c)(3):
Bill is working on the multipage application form and asked that Eugene and James Van Ornum
meet with him to fill it out.
REPEATER REPORT:
1. Baw Faw: Eugene and Mike Payne were able to replace the "SO" cord
that was part of the power feed to the repeater building.
2. CVARS (Penning Hill): there are plans to add battery backup for the repeater.
ADDITIONAL BUSINESS:
1. James Van Ornum reminded the board that the CVARS.ORG web site is hosted
on Simply Hosting. The site renewal of $49.80 is due on November 24, 2018.
The cvars.org domain name renewal of $16.95 (an increase of $4 from last year)
is due on November 29, 2018.
The bawfaw.org domain name will need to be renewed by May 20, 2019.
2. Paul is continuing amateur radio discussions with the Castle Rock High School.
It was suggested that he try to get the Lower Columbia Amateur Radio Association
in Longview involved.
ADJOURNMENT:
The board meeting was adjourned at 18:57.
November 7, 2018 PROGRAM NOTES
The November 7, 2018 general meeting was called to order by Eugene at
7:30 PM with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag followed by
people introducing themselves.
The attendance signin sheets were passed around.
The November and December calendars,
which are available at http://cvars.org/, were presented.
Bill Knepper said the November 12 Centralia ARES Ham Radio Lab has been cancelled.
Dick Morrison announced that there will be a license exam session
at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, November 13 at the LDS Church on Jackson Highway,
The following were elected to the open 2019 CVARS Board member positions:
— President for 2019: Bill Harwell, AC7SR.
— Vice-President for 2019: Chuck Verdon, W5KAV.
— Secretary for 2019: Paul Van Dyck, K7VWH.
— At Large for 2019-2020: John Ellingson, K7OSK.

The meeting wraped up with an auction of a number of electronic and mechanical parts
donated to the club by Don McDougall, W6OA.
The meeting adjourned at 8:33 PM.
