The CVARS WA7UHD Net meets Sunday at 8 PM local time on 145.430 MHz –offset, 110.9 Hz tone. Net controllers are:

The February 4, 2015 board meeting was called to order by Linc Haymaker at 1848. Board members present were Linc Haymaker, Eugene O’Neill, James Van Ornum, Teresa Haymaker,

Reita Campbell, John Ellingson, Don McDougall.


The transfer of funds from the Baw Faw Repeater Group (BFRG) has not happened yet. Teresa and Mike Payne, BFRG President, are working with Gil Elder, BFRG Treasurer, to make it happen.


Teresa and James each have a key to PO Box 1281 in Chehalis. Gil Elder has a third key to give to us. The box rental is $95/year, due sometime this spring. A payment due notice will be placed in the box.


The amendment to the Weyerhaeuser lease replacing “Baw Faw Repeater Group” with “Chehalis Valley Amateur Radio Society” has been signed and returned to Weyerhaeuser. Weyerhaeuser will invoice us for $850 due February 28, 2015. The invoice has not been received yet. James has a copy of the lease on file.


The club’s liability insurance premium notice for $250 due March 22, 2015 was received. Eugene moved and Teresa seconded that we pay the premium. Motion was approved unanimously.


The club station license WA7UHD renewal is due by April 24, 2015. We agreed to keep Jeff Mayfield as the trustee.


The club donated $200 to the Wilse Morgan WX7P Memorial ARRL Northwestern Division Scholarship fund on July 3, 2013. Teresa moved and Eugene seconded that we donate $200 again. Motion was approved unanimously.


We discussed the 2015 Swapmeet flyer. It was agreed to not have a license testing session during the Swapmeet. We can secure free space to hold the sessions another time and the Swapmeet can remain a social activity for all the CVARS members.


Teresa reported a balance of $5,616.85 in the CVARS checking account at Security State Bank as of January 31, 2015. There is $217 in the Baw Faw account. The Baw Faw Repeater Group has $118.85 in a Prime Share Account and $4,185.76 in an Innovator Checking account, for a total of $4,304.61 at Twin Star Credit Union.


The board meeting was adjourned at 1908 by Linc Haymaker.


The February 4, 2015 general meeting was called to order by Linc Haymaker at 1934 with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag followed by people introducing themselves. The attendance sheets and CVARS Sunday 8PM Net Controller sheet were passed around.


It was announced that effective January 1, 2015 the Baw Faw Repeater Group has merged into the Chehalis Valley Amateur Radio Society. The name, location, frequency, offset and tone of the Baw Faw repeater remain the same. The operation of the repeater continues to be supported by donations which may be made at any CVARS membership meeting or mailed to:

Jim Pace, ARRL Northwestern Division Director, talked about the Wilse Morgan WX7P Memorial ARRL Northwestern Division Scholarship.


Starting February 17, the FCC no longer will routinely issue paper license documents to Amateur Radio applicants and licensees. … the official Amateur Radio license authorization is the electronic record that exists in its Universal Licensing System (ULS).

The speaker for the evening was Barbara Southern, AC7ET. Barbara presented a NASA video about the space shuttle along with stories about her experiences at NASA.


The meeting was adjourned at 2115 after the 50/50 drawing. There were 29 people registering their attendance on the attendance sheets.
