The December 3, 2014 general meeting was called to order by Chuck Verdon at 1820 with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Dick Morrison offered grace and we settled down to a great pot-luck dinner and social time.

At 1900, Chuck called for a vote on merging the Baw Faw Repeater group into the Chehalis Valley Amateur Radio Society (CVARS). Dick Morrison moved that CVARS take ownership of the Baw Faw repeater. Eugene O’Neill seconded the motion. The discussion included that the Baw Faw Repeater Group funds will be put in a separate bank account from the CVARS general account. The amateur radio licensed CVARS members present approved the motion unanimously.

The attendance sheets and CVARS Sunday 8PM Net Controller sheet were passed around. Chuck presented Certificates of Appreciation to members of the CVARS Board and several others recognizing their contributions during 2014.

We then exchanged gifts using “Yankee Swap” rules (see ):

-          a person’s turn was selected randomly,

-          1st person selects a wrapped gift from those brought and unwraps it,

-          next person either steals that gift or selects a gift from among those remaining unwrapped, etc,

-          if a person’s gift is stolen, they can steal someone else’s or select an unwrapped gift,

-          after 2 steals, a gift is immune from further steals,

-          after all gifts have been unwrapped, the 1st person has an opportunity to exchange their gift with one other person.

The meeting was adjourned at 2030. There were 31 people registering their attendance on the attendance sheets. Thanks to all who attended, who shared food, who played the gift exchanged game, who set the room up for the dinner, decorated and restored the room to its normal configuration.
