The board met informally at Gary’s home at 6:30 PM. Present were James Van Ornum, Barbara Southern, John Ellingson, Jim Campbell, Gary Litteer, and Larry Pratt.

James called the general meeting to order at 7:30 PM with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag followed by people introducing themselves. The attendance sheets and CVARS Sunday 8PM Net Controller sheet were passed around.

John reported that this year’s swapmeet cash receipts were $ 835, down from $ 1044 last year. He asked if CVARS should hold a swapmeet again next year and it was agreed that we should. John was thanked for his swapmeet leadership and the picnic he and Sharon hosted afterward.

James highlighted the ham activities on the calendar for August and September (details can be found on the web site. This year’s board election will be for the 1-year term offices of President, Vice-President and Secretary and for the 2-year term offices of Treasurer and one At-Large. The slate of candidates will be announced at the October meeting. Nominations will be accepted from the floor before the election during the November meeting.

The program was a discussion of Antennas and Transmission Lines led by James. This touched on half-wave dipoles, j-poles, insulators, coaxial cable, ladder line and antenna analyzers.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 PM. There were 28 people attending.

What a great Swapmeet we had this year. Lots of people helped out and had fun. The sellers were happy with the level of their sales. CVARS made money on the event. AND John and Sharon hosted another great “After the Meet” picnic. Hams were in attendance from all over Washington. I am looking forward to next year’s Swapmeet – maybe next year I’ll get my unused equipment together and to the meet!
