                Club will provide ham, turkey, coffee, sode and fruit drink.

                Club will have disposable cups, plates, silverware available.

                                 You may bring your own place settings.

                Bring a salad, side dish and/or dessert to share.

                You may bring a $10 exchange gift.

CVARS WA7UHD Sunday Night Net Controller Schedule


The CVARS WA7UHD Net meets Sunday at 8 PM local time on 145.430 MHz -offset 110.9 Hz tone. The net preamble is on the web site under the CVARS Info tab. Net controllers are:

The board meeting was called to order at 6:50 PM with James Van Ornum,  Jeff Mayfield, Jim Campbell, Dick Morrison and Ken Wages attending.


1.       Upcoming meetings will include:
November – election of the board members.
December – pot luck dinner to be held at the Virgil R. Lee Community Building, corner of SW 13th Street and SW William Avenue (SW Cascade Avenue) in Chehalis.

2.       James displayed the new CVARS banner. Total cost of the banner was $185.81, which included $127.20 for the banner, $45 for the latout, and $13.61 sales tax.


The board meeting adjourned at 7:00 PM.


James called the general meeting to order at 7:25 PM with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and everyone introducing themselves with first name and call sign.

There were no additional nominations from the floor. The members present approved the nominations.

6.       The December CVARS meeting will be a pot-luck dinner at the Virgil R. Lee Community Building, corner of SW 13th Avenue and SW William Avenue in Chehalis. It will start at 6 PM on Wednesday, December 7, 2011.
– CVARS members and their families and friends are invited.
– The club will provide ham and turkey. John Ellingson will purchase.
– The club will provide coffee, soda and fruit drink. Rob Majoros will purchase.
– Rob Majoros will have disposable cups, plates, and silverware available. You may bring your own place settings.
– Individuals are to bring salad, side dish and/or dessert to share.
– Individuals may bring a $10 exchange gift.


James presented a video interview with Martin F. Jue, the president of MFJ Enterprises, Inc. The highlight of the interview was Martin’s collection of old ham gear stacked on the many bookcases in his office. The second video was a tour of the MFJ manufacturing facilities and showed some wave soldering and handling of surface mount components.


The general meeting adjourned and 8:30 PM. 21 people attended.

Well, we have board members elected for the coming year, BUT we still need someone to take meeting notes – otherwise known as the secretary. It is not a hard job, just takes a little commitment to try to attend the monthly meetings. Think about whether you could do it for a year!


Some of us are interested in exploring the use of packet radio – especially useful when traditional communications is knocked out. This Wednesday, November 9, 2011, a group of us are meeting at 7 PM at the Law and Justice building on Main Street in Chehalis to see if we can communicate with each other on 2 meters via packet radio. Come on out if your interested, watch us make this system work, or bring your station. Either way, it should be fun.
