September 5, 2018 BOARD MEETING NOTES
MEMBERS PRESENT:
Eugene O'Neill, Jerry Randall, Bill Knepper, John Ellingson, Jim Pace, and Kevin Rasku.

CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order by the President at 18:31.

FINANCIAL REPORT:
Bill presented the following account summaries:
CVARS Account Balance:              $5,929.05
BAW FAW Account Balance:        $1,443.46

Swapmeet summary:
Bill updated the net income from the Swapmeet to $565.34 with an additional $315.94 damage deposit to be collected from the Southwest Washington Fairground.

CVARS Board:
The following 1-year board positions are up for election this November:
  President, Vice President, and Secretary.
The following 2-year board positions are up for election this November:
  Treasurer and 1 At-Large Board Member.

501(c)(3):
Bill continues to research registering CVARS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit organization.

REPEATER REPORT:
The Telewave Duplexer cans have been installed for the BawFaw repeater. Eugene has 80 feet of hardline that can replace flexible coaxial cable to one of the Baw Faw antennas. He is researching replacing the Comet Colinear with a commercial grade antenna, such as the Telewave 135.

ADJOURNMENT:
The board meeting was adjourned at 18:53.

September 5, 2018 PROGRAM NOTES
The September 5, 2018 general meeting was called to order by Eugene at 7:30 PM with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag followed by people introducing themselves. The attendance signin and CVARS Sunday 8PM Net Controller sheets were passed around.

The September and October calendars, which are available at http://cvars.org/, were presented.

George, K8VU, is preparing a General license class. He needs at least 5 students. Email him at K8VU@ARRL.net if interested.

Jim Pace, K7CEX, presented the program for the evening. He started with an overview of the ARRL which has 111 employees. Howard Michel, WB2ITX, will take office as the next CEO on October 15, 2018.

Jim then went on about how excited he is about Amateur Radio and the breath of activities it includes.

The meeting adjourned at 8:53 PM. There were 28 people registering their attendance on the attendance sheet.
