The August and September calendars, which are available at http://cvars.org/, were presented.

have been sources of used ham gear.

For packable transceivers, he has used both the Yaesu FT-817 and the EleCraft KX3.

Dana shared his experience with rechargeable batteries. He recommended the Eneloop NiMH 1.2-volt AA batteries.

With respect to antennas, Dana shared his experience with the Buddipole HF antenna. He found that it required a lot of retuning when "bouncing" between several HF bands. Dana did find the Super Antenna MP1 verticle antenna easy to work with in the field. The original manufacturer has gone out of business, but another company has picked up the design. They can be found at:
   http://newsuperantenna.com/
Dana has also found a magnetic loop antenna works well. The AlexLoop is a QRP antenna that operates on the 40 to 10 meter bands. More details are at:
   http://www.alexloop.com/

For tuning antennas in the field, Dana uses a SARK-100 Antenna Analyzer, an under $100, 1 to 60 MHz analyzer.

The meeting adjourned at 8:20 PM. There were 20 people registering their attendance on the attendance sheet.
