April 5, 2017 BOARD MEETING MINUTES

MEMBERS PRESENT:
Eugene O’Neill; Jerry Randall; Paul Van Dyke; Veda Moline; John Ellingson; Loren Moline; Bill Kneeper

CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order by The Honorable President Eugene O'Neill at 1830.

PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES:
The minutes from the February meeting were approved.

FINANCIAL REPORT:
Veda presented the following account summaries:
CVARS Account Balance:              $ 6,892.97
BAW FAW Account Balance:        $ 3,121.54

BOARD BUSINESS:
Progress on the communication trailer was discussed.

The Board of Directors voted in favor of paying $19.95 to renew the BawFaw.org domain name for another year.

ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 18:48.

April 5, 2017 PROGRAM NOTES

The April 5, 2017 general meeting was called to order by Eugene with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag followed by people introducing themselves. The attendance sheets, refreshment sign-up sheet and CVARS Sunday 8PM Net Controller sheet were passed around. The CVARS calendar for April and May was reviewed.

Eric Brooks, AF7ZM, presented and demonstrated JT65, a digital mode developed by Joe Taylor, K1JT, for VHF/UHF Earth-Moon-Earth and MF/HF QRP communication. WSJT-X, software that implements JT65 and other digital protocols, is available at:
     http://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/k1jt/wsjtx.html 
JT65 requires that both sides of a QSO have their compute real time clocks synchronized. A program named Dimension4 4 that synchronize your computer's clock over the internet can be downloaded from:
     http://www.thinkman.com/dimension4/
