November 2, 2016 BOARD MEETING MINUTES – JAMES VAN ORNUM SUMMARY

 

MEMBERS PRESENT: 

Eugene O’Neill; Veda Moline; James Van Ornum; John Ellingson; Paul Van Dyck, Loren Moline, Bill Knepper

 

CALL TO ORDER:

James opened the board meeting at 1830 Pacific Time.

 

FINANCIAL REPORT:

CVARS Account Balance:                  $7,281.65

BAW FAW Account Balance:           $3,716.54

 

SWAP MEET: 

John Ellingson said we are signed up to have the 2017 Swap Meet on July 22, 2017. The damage deposit will be rolled over from 2016 to 2017.

 

CVARS.ORG SERVER AND DOMAIN NAME:

Yearly server invoice of $49.80 due 11/24/2016 and domain name invoice of $12.95 due $12.95. Board approved James paying the invoices and being reimbursed from the CVARS account.

 

FIRE DOGS AND CVARS REPEATER SITE:

Board approved a year end donation of $200 to the Lewis County Fire District 6 Fire Dogs in appreciation of meeting in the LCFD#6 training room, and $150 to Mary and Gerald Fischer in appreciation for housing the 145.430 MHz repeater.

 

The meeting adjourned at 1903.   

 

November 2, 2016 PROGRAM MINUTES

 

The November 2, 2016 general meeting was called to order by James at 7:30 pm with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag followed by people introducing themselves. The attendance sheets, CVARS Sunday 8PM Net Controller sheet, and sign-up sheets for monthly refreshments were passed around.

 

Announcements included highlights from the calendar found at http://cvars.org/ and these details about the Christmas Pot Luck dinner to be held on December 7, 2016:

Family and Friends Invited –

─     Club provides meat course and beverage

─     Bring your own place setting

─     Bring a salad, side dish and/or dessert (coordinate with Veda Moline)

─     Adults may bring an up to $15, genderless, ADULT "Yankee Swap" gift per participant:

+     1st person selects packaged gift from those brought

+     2nd person either "steals" that unwrapped gift or selects a packaged gift

+     after 2 steals, an unwrapped gift is immune from further steals

─     High schoolers and younger may bring an up to $15, genderless, YOUTH "Yankee Swap" gift per participant:

+     We'll use the same exchange rules as above.

 

James presented the nominations for the 2017CVARS Board:

─     2017 President ─ Eugene O’Neill

─     2017 Secretary ─ Paul Van Dyck

─     2017-18 Treasurer ─ Veda Moline

─     2017-18 At Large ─ John Ellingson

Jerry Randall volunteered to run for 2017 Vie-President. There were no other nominations from the floor. The presented slate was approved by voice vote.
