August 3, 2016 BOARD MEETING MINUTES

 

MEMBERS PRESENT: 

Eugene O’Neill; Veda Moline; James Van Ornum; John Ellingson; Paul Van Dyck

 

GUESTS PRESENT:

Loren Moline, WA7SKT, and Bill Knepper, KI7DFF

 

CALL TO ORDER:

James Van Ornum opened the board meeting at 1836 Pacific Time.

 

FINANCIAL REPORT:

The financial report was approved as read.  The minutes from the July meeting were approved, as they had been posted in the CVARS Newsletter. 

 

AT-LARGE BOARD MEMBER NOMINATIONS:

Loren Moline and Bill Knepper accepted the board’s nomination to the two, vacant, 2016-17 at-large positions.

 

SWAP MEET: 

Financial considerations were discussed regarding the swap meet. It was an overall success.

 

REPEATERS:

·         Liability and insurance issues as to access to the site were discussed.

·         Decision was made to allocate up to $500 to Eugene O’Neill for purposes of maintaining the Baw Faw repeater.

 

CVARS MAIL SERVER:

The server is capable of allowing Board members access by their title, such as president@cvars.org.

 

The meeting adjourned at 1910.

August 3, 2016 PROGRAM MINUTES

 

The August 3, 2016 general meeting was called to order by James with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag followed by people introducing themselves. The attendance sheets, CVARS Sunday 8PM Net Controller sheet, and sign-up sheets for monthly refreshments were passed around.

 

James presented the 2 proposed at-large 2016-17 CVARS Board members (Loren Moline, WA7SKT, and Bill Knepper, KI7DFF) to the membership. With no additional nominations from the floor, the presented nominees were approved by voice vote.

 

John Ellingson summarized the July 23, 2016 CVARS Swapmeet.

 

There was a call for club members interested in being a part of the repeater technical team to oversee the two CVARS repeaters.

 

The ham calendar for August was summarized.

 

PROGRAM:

Jeff Mayfield, KE7ACE, presented a slide show of his trip to Pilot Station, Alaska to work Field Day 2016 with Donn Gallon, KL7DG.

 

The meeting was adjourned with 37 people registering their attendance on the attendance sheets.
