CVARS WA7UHD Sunday Night Net Controller Schedule

 

The CVARS WA7UHD Net meets Sunday at 8 PM local time on 145.430 MHz –offset, 110.9 Hz tone. Net controllers are:

February MEETING MINUTES

 

The February 3, 2016 board meeting was called to order by Linc Haymaker at 6:45 pm. Board members present were Linc Haymaker, Eugene O’Neill, James Van Ornum, Teresa Haymaker, Veda Moline, Paul Van Dyck, and Don McDougall.

 

James reported that an application for the email address WA7UHD@arrl.net has been submitted. It is ae7tf@cvars.org . It is now working.

 

Secretary will send a letter to Baw Faw Repeater users that have not already donated.

 

Treasurer’s report:      CVARS balance is $5,955.90, 2/3/16

Baw Faw balance is $4,583.92, 2/3/16, estimated invoice for $850 to lease the repeater location

Linc signed the lease to the Baw Faw.

 

Eugene moved to pay the Baw Faw repeater bill when we receive it. Second by Teresa and motion carried. The contact doesn’t have an increase of rent in the lease document.

 

The letters for the Baw Faw repeater users will be that Teresa created. Veda will send. Eugene motioned Teresa seconded.

 

The board meeting was adjourned at 7:12 pm by Linc Haymaker.

 

The February 3, 2016 general meeting was called to order by Linc Haymaker at 7:30 pm with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag followed by people introducing themselves. The attendance sheets, CVARS Sunday 8PM Net Controller sheet, sign-up sheets for monthly refreshments were passed around.

Dana Jones, made a motion to accept the by-laws as written, Chuck Verdon, seconded, motion carried.

  2. Tom Herman, "Solar Power"

Tom gave a presentation overview of solar power. Tom’s background is working for DNR.

DNR uses fiber glass batteries last 15 years. These Batteries can be use down to 10.8 volts per cell. Make sure you have a safety factor when designing a system.

These are charged with sulfuric acid when the batteries start. They are very expensive.

Home use is to do research and get batteries from the same design set.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm after the 50/50 drawing. There were 30 people registering their attendance on the attendance sheets.
