JULY MEETING MINUTES
The July 1, 2015 board meeting was called to order by Linc Haymaker at 1846. Board members present were Linc Haymaker, Eugene O’Neill, James Van Ornum, Teresa Haymaker, Reita Campbell, John Ellingson and Don McDougall.
Treasurer’s report: CVARS balance is $4809.82, a decrease of $340.20 from last month.
Baw Faw balance is $3,886.61, no change since May.
The Baw Faw repeater hardware taken out of service on March 28 continues to be rejuvenated. The controller has been reset and is working. The digital voice recorder is not a part of the controller and needs to be located. The transceiver has been checked and is OK. When the repeater hardware is reinstalled, we will try to add a separate receive antenna and a 440 MHz control channel. We need to work with Weyerhaeuser to update our keys to access Baw Faw Peak.
ARRL Field Day activities were Friday to Sunday, June 26 to 28. Chuck Verdon coordinated the Centralia ARES and CVARS volunteers. CVARS payed for the hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, condiments and drinks. There was no charge the port-a-potty this year. There was a hidden transmitter hunt again this year.
The CVARS 17th Annual Swapmeet on Saturday, July 25, is coordinated by John Ellingson. We need to have volunteer admission collectors at the gate since Rita and Larry Pratt have moved out of state.
April’s “Electronics Workshops” interest survey results and current planning is posted on the cvars.org website. We are targeting the first meeting for a Thursday in September.
The board meeting was adjourned at 1901 by Linc Haymaker.
The July 1, 2015 general meeting was called to order by Linc Haymaker at 1930 with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag followed by people introducing themselves. The attendance sheets and CVARS Sunday 8PM Net Controller sheet were passed around.
Announcements included:
1. A reminder that the refreshments are self sustaining, not included in CVARS membership;
2. The July and August calendars were highlighted;
3. The CVARS Swapmeet is July 25, coordinated by John Ellingson. Setup will start at 5 PM on Friday. We are paying an extra $50 to setup Friday;
4. Loren Moline is coordinating the Electronics Workshop activity and looking for a site;
5. Jim Pace said people can join and renew their ARRL membership through the club and the club can receive a part of the dues.
The speaker for the evening was Teresa Haymaker, N4MBA. She presented video highlights from Field Day 2015.
The meeting was adjourned at 2035 after the 50/50 drawing. There were 28 people registering their attendance on the attendance sheets.
