NOVEMBER MEETING MINUTES

The November 5, 2014 executive board meeting was called to order by Chuck Verdon at 1830. Board members present were Chuck Verdon, Linc Haymaker, James Van Ornum, Teresa Haymaker, Reita Campbell, John Ellingson and Don McDougall.

Linc moved that the treasurer and secretary individually be signatories for the club checking account. John seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. The bank no longer requires two signatures on the club checks, but we want to have a backup in case the treasurer is unavailable for some reason.

Teresa moved that the Chehalis Valley Amateur Radio Society accept the assets and liabilities of the Baw Faw Repeater Group. Chuck seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. The understanding is that:

1.       the Baw Faw Repeater Group plans to dissolve by the end of the year 2014,

2.       the dissolution is contingent on transferring the site lease with Weyerhaeuser,

3.       the financial assets of the Baw Faw Repeater Group will be transferred in whole to the Chehalis Valley Amateur Radio Society and placed in a new account for the maintenance of the repeater hardware and continuance of the site lease,

4.       an inventory of the physical assets of the Baw Faw Repeater Group will be provided,

5.       the Baw Faw Repeater Group post office box will be transferred to the Chehalis Valley Amateur Radio Society,

6.       the Baw Faw Repeater Group web site will be transferred to the Chehalis Valley Amateur Radio Society,

7.       the Baw Faw Repeater Group board members will help maintain the repeater.

The executive board meeting was adjourned at 1840 by Chuck Verdon.

Chuck called the general meeting to order at 1933 with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag followed by people introducing themselves. The attendance sheets and CVARS Sunday 8PM Net Controller sheet were passed around. The activities scheduled for November, including VE Testing on Saturday, November 15 at the LDS Church on Jackson Highway, was reviewed.

The election of the unopposed nominations for the 2015 board:

·         President:               Linc Haymaker, K0ZCO

·         Vice-President:     Eugene O’Neill, AF7JM

·         Secretary:               James Van Ornum, AE7TF

·         Treasurer:               Teresa Haymaker, N7MBA

was approved by a voice vote of the members present. The election of the one at-large position was by written ballot, and Don McDougall, W6OA, was elected. Thank you to the nominating committee for their work and to Jerry Randall, Jeff Mayfield and Don McDougall for accepting the nomination to the one open at-large position.

James Van Ornum, AE7TF, lead a discussion about emergency preparedness using the Boy Scouts of America merit badge requirements as a resource.

The meeting was adjourned at 2035 after the 50/50 drawing. There were 29 people registering their attendance on the attendance sheets.
