The CVARS WA7UHD Net meets Sunday at 8 PM local time on 145.430 MHz –offset, 110.9 Hz tone. Net controllers are:

NOVEMBER MEETING MINUTES

 

The November 6, 2013 board meeting was called to order by President Chuck Verdon at 6:45 PM.. Present were Chuck Verdon, Barbara Southern, James Van Ornum, John Ellingson, Gary Litteer and Don McDougall.

 

The nominating committee, Barbara Southern and Jim Campbell, presented a revised slate of nominations:

-          President: Chuck Verdon,W5KAV

-          Vice-President: Linc Haymaker, K0ZCO

-          Secretary: James Van Ornum, AE7TF

-          At Large: Reita Campbell, KE7TBK

-          At Large: Teresa Haymaker ,N4MBA

 

Jeff Mayfield presented a bill of $99.92 ($14.74 yearly domain name registration + $83.88 yearly web site hosting) for our yearly web site renewal. The board voted to reimburse Jeff for the expense. When Jeff processed the renewal, it ended up as $82.61 ($12.36 domain name renewal + $69.32 wed hosting + $0.93 Tax). Jeff will reimburse the treasurer $17.31.

 

We reviewed arrangements for the December Pot-Luck Dinner:

-          6 PM,Wed,Dec 4, Lewis County Fire District #6, 2123 Jackson Highway, Chehalis

-          Family and friends invited

-          Club provides ham and turkey, John Ellingson

-          Club provides coffee, soda, fruit drink

-          Club provides cups, disposable plates and silverware

-          Individuals bring salad, side dish, dessert

-          Individuals bring $10 exchange gift

-          Musical entertainment – The Van Dycks

 

The January 2014 CVARS monthly meeting will be January 8th, since the first Wednesday is New Years Day. Because the Fire District 6 Training Room is being used by another group on January 8th, Bob Willey arranged to use the Riverside Fire Authority training room, 1818 Harrison Avenue, Centralia. The program has been tentatively set up as Fire Chief Jim Walkowski speaking on his emergency management experiences following hurricane Katrina. (Bob subsequently confirmed Chief Walkowski’s availability.)

 

John Ellingson reported $5,821.27 in the CVARS checking account.

 

The board meeting adjourned at 7:00 PM.

 

Chuck called the general meeting to order at 7:30 PM with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag followed by people introducing themselves. The attendance sheets and CVARS Sunday 8PM Net Controller sheet were passed around.

 

Barbara Southern and Jim Campbell presented the following slate of nominees for the 2014 board:

                President                – Chuck Verdon

                Vice-President      – Linc Haymaker

                Secretary                 – James Van Ornum

                At-Large                   –  Reita Campbell

                At-Large                   –  Theresa Haymaker

There were no nominations from the floor and the members present approved the slate as presented.

 

The plans for the December Pot-Luck Dinner and the January 8th meeting were presented.

 

Chuck Verdon presented a program on the National Traffic System-Digital (NTSD).

 

The meeting adjourned at 8:45 PM after drawing for 50/50. There were 28 people attending.
