JUNE 1, 2011 BOARD MEETING MINUTES

CVARS Board Meeting was called to order at 6:55 PM. Present were James Van Ornum, Jeff Mayfield, John Ellingson, and Ken Wages.

The Post Office Box we are renting in Centralia expires the end of June 2011. James reported that there has not been any CVARS specific mail received since the start of 2011. The mail address on the CVARS web site has been changed to James’ home address. James will return the 2 mail box keys to the Centralia post office during the month of June.

The ARRL has endorsed a new liability insurance underwriter whose rate is $200 per year ($50 less than our current underwriter). Our current policy expires on March 22, 2012. Before it expires we will check on buying insurance from the new underwriter. John, on behalf of  the Southwest Washington Fair,  requested a Certificate of Liability Insurance to include the following language: “The Southwest Washington Fair, Lewis County, its officers, directors, agents and employees shall be additional insured.” James will submit the request to Marsh U. S. Consumer.

The board meeting was adjourned at 7:00 PM.

PRESIDENT'S CORNER

Even if you don’t want to operate a station during the Field Day event, you can talk with visitors about what Ham Radio means to you. I got involved with CVARS because Jeff Mayfield talked with me about the club and the Field Day setup  about 4 years ago. You may never know what impact you have by talking with a Field Day visitor. Spend some time at the Field Day location in Fort Borst Park Friday, Saturday or Sunday, June 24-26.

73,  James Van Ornum, KG4YWD
